The resolution was approved by 419 lawmakers. One MP from the far-right Confederation party voted against it, while 15 lawmakers—including members of Confederation and the far-right Confederation of the Polish Crown—abstained.

February 24 marked four years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In the resolution, initiated by the house leadership, lawmakers strongly condemned what they described as Russia’s illegal and unprovoked aggression against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The document states that Russia’s actions constitute violations of international law and accuses Moscow of pursuing a strategy of systematically destroying Ukraine's critical infrastructure, leading to a humanitarian crisis.

The Polish lower house reaffirmed its support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders and declared that Poland would continue its political, humanitarian and military assistance for as long as it takes.

Lawmakers also expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by the Polish government and society toward the Ukrainian people.

The resolution fully backed efforts by Ukraine and the international community to locate, secure the release of and ensure the safe return of Ukrainian children who were unlawfully taken to Russia.

It condemned "the practices of forced and illegal adoptions, recognising them as a gross violation of international law," and called for the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of war and unlawfully detained civilians.

"The perpetrators of these crimes must be held accountable,” the resolution said.

The chamber also called on the Polish government to continue its efforts to support Ukraine and to "pursue further sanctions against Russia and entities supporting it."

Lawmakers paid tribute to all victims of Russia’s aggression, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
